Mackerel Spicy Salad

I bought some really fresh medium size mackerels in the weekend and I threw them in the freezer until now. My sister hates fish, if you don’t cook fish right, she wouldn’t touch it. This recipe has won her heart. When never I make this, she never has just one.

Ingredients: (4 servings)

4 medium size mackerel (you can use fresh Tuna steaks)

1 tbsp oil

1 lime- juiced

1 onion- sliced

2 tbsp sugar

3 tbsp fish sauce or to taste

4-6 green chili (red even better)- chopped

A handful of coriander leaves- chopped

Clean and cut the mackerels.

Heat the skillet and add 1 tbsp of oil.

Fry fish over the medium heat for few minutes each side or until the fish are brown and cook.

Combine green chili, onion, sugar, lemon juice and fish sauce together. Stir until sugar is dissolved.

Add coriander leaves and mix well.

Place fish on the serving platter and top with the dressing.

I love enjoying this delicious spicy fish with some rice and stir fried beans. What’s your favourite way of cooking fresh mackerel?
